63. Christine {9’ Gordon MacNem'n

The MacNevin farm was originally owned by John Taylor MacDougall who was married to Flora (MacLean). The next owner was Silas lVlurley who built the present stately house. His first wife was Margaret (MacPhee), and they had three children, Archie (Jean Moore), Lena (Jack Stewart), and Taylor who died at an early age. His second wife was Flora (Gillis), an aunt of Nicholas Gillis. They had one son, Wendell. He was said to be the first person with a bicycle in the shore. Donald MacNevin, from Boston Mass, was the next owner of the property. He married Olive (Buchanan) and summered here.They had four children: Gordon, Glen, —,— Gordon married Christine MacLeod ofBonsl1aw.They had three sons, Donald, Gordon (Bonnie Campbell) and Bruce. Gordon and Christine built “Seashore Summer Cottages" on the property where Hannebury's Lobster Factory had been formerly situated. They operated the cottage business for many years. Gordon

died July 5, 1991, and at the present time Christine is residing at the Beach Grove Home.
