On Jan. 18, 1893 a motion was adopted at an Adjourned Annual Meeting to pay the organist for her services in the future. Apparently the organist’s salary was not guaranteed. When the church coffers were depleted in 1897 Session was forced to request larger subscriptions (offerings) from the congregation and free music by the organist! It appears that Mrs. Douglas Gordon became the first church organist, a position she still held by 1902. By 1907 the organist was a Mrs. Campbell. In January 1895 the Board of Managers recom- mended the installation of electric lights in the church.
