It would appear from the above descrip- tion that Neil MacDonald’s Wharf was on Souris River in Lot 44 adjoining land owned by Cunard. Although Cunard owned land on the northern half of Lot 45 as well, he never owned land in Souris East, the southern half of Lot 45 where the East Pac Wharf is located.
H.D. McLean, who managed the fishery business for Matthew & McLean Limited, told George A. Leard he had heard that, in the beginning, John Knight had a fish stand on a flat rock on the shore in the vicinity of the Matthew & McLean Limited Wharf.
We acknowledge that we have not been able to solve the mystery of the Knight Wharf. We leave that to the next writers of Soulis' history.
